These pretty ladies are Lola and her momma, Sarah. We met for the first time when Lola was much smaller, a little three year old who brought cupcakes for the faeries while we wandered through a beautiful wooded area taking family photos. Somewhere between the faerie cupcakes and Sarah’s bright yellow leggings and bright spirit we connected in a way that was much more lasting than an hour with the camera between us. She’s been such an amazing friend for the three years since we met! We walked so many laps around the park last summer and she was totally my counselor/mental health expert as I was wedding planning. Without having someone to talk to, my head probably would’ve exploded (there’s a lot of drama in planning weddings!) She’s full of stories and the way she makes ordinary life so fun for her daughter reminds me of sweet moments and lots of creativity and fun times together with my mom, growing up. The first time I went to dinner at the home of Sarah, Kerry (her awesome husband), Lola, and Wally (their pup) I loved seeing photographs I had taken all over their walls. The second time I went, I remember being super in awe, but also jealous, of their summer bucket list.  A few of my favorites were Paint Wally’s nails, Build a Fairy house, watch shooting stars, watch a movie outside, run through fountains, catch fireflies. I wanted to be a part of that. Thankfully, we have been a part of some more Moreno family adventures. They’re very high up (like the tippy tippy top) of my husband Adam and my list of favorite people. This week Lola was on spring break, and we wanted to join them for something fun. Totally rad Eva, of EcoFlora Design, let us come spend time with her (and her tiny human, Elliot) in her shop. She taught us how to make flower crowns and sent us off with some dazzling pieces to wear as the rain clouds parted and the sun came out for a wee bit of time- just enough time to have a mud-ilicious mother-daughter shoot!
