A couple days after Christmas, Adam and I set out on a road trip from Ohio to California. We were helping some friends move. Along the way we spent two nights with people we knew in Tulsa and Amarillo. I didn’t pull out my camera at those times, because I wanted to soak up the time spent with these far away friends. But there was a day when driving through snowy New Mexico, we had to pull over because the white trees were so beautiful. A police actually drove up shortly after us to see what we were up to. I definitely didn’t expect the freezing temperatures and snow in the Southwest. I almost didn’t bring my coat on the whole trip, thinking that once we hit St. Louis snow would just be a memory. The next time I pulled out my camera was when we went to Joshua Tree with Madison and Matt (who were spending New Years at a cute little airbnb just outside the park). It was gloriously sunny and quite warm, but there was also snow. Such a juxtaposition to see cacti surrounded by snow that hadn’t yet melted away. Then we spent a day with our friend Christen in LA, she showed us some of her favorite spots- Venice Beach, Abbot Kinney, we had lunch at Lemonade then we climbed up (part of) a mountain to see the sunset and moon rise over LA. So much fun. On our last day, we had breakfast with friends Kelly and Mal, whose wedding we’re excited to be shooting in May!
