When Melissa and Sangram asked me to come to Cincinatti and document their Hindu ceremony on a Thursday (because the day was auspicious) I was eager for the opportunity to learn about another culture and new traditions. Melissa and Sangram’s Hindu ceremony included eating apples, burning incense, taking pinches of spices and putting in a small fire, family throwing flower petals to bless the couple, eating a dessert called ladoo, circling a small fire tied together by scarves, giving the bride a necklace and lots of prayer. We started our time together at the b&b they stayed in where Sangram awaited his bride at the bottom of the stairs for their first look, then we headed to the temple for the religious ceremony!
